Electronics recycling, Non-profits and associations, Canada Development of an EHS legal register for an electronic products recycler
Summary
EEM was selected to develop an environment, health and safety legal register for an organization that refurbishes computers in order to distribute them to schools and to non-profit organizations.
Approach and Solution
As a first step, EEM identified the full range of the organization’s activities and conducted an exhaustive review of applicable environment, health and safety regulations. The applicable regulations were then listed in a register. Finally, details on how each regulation applies to the client’s activities were added to the register to make sure the organization understands their obligations.
Results
The client now has a reliable record of the legislation that applies to its activities and a better understanding of how it applies. Moreover, the register can be used internally as a compliance protocol.
