Aerospace, Manufacturing, Canada Development of a corporate procedure to reduce energy consumption
Summary
EEM was retained to develop a corporate procedure aiming to reduce the operating costs of a turbine engine manufacturer by consuming less energy and reducing emissions of greenhouse gases. This procedure was aligned with the deployment of an innovative corporate program tailored to the Canadian context.
Approach and Solution
The approach adopted by EEM for the development of the procedure started with the review of corporate documents and communications to identify applicable core requirements. A management system consultant then worked closely with the company’s corporate team to identify essential steps in the deployment of the program, required tools for training and communication, and milestones for implementation and program monitoring, thus defining the roles and responsibilities of the company’s staff within the program.
Results
The development of the procedure has enabled a corporate program to be adapted to a local context and operational structure. Deployment milestones and requirements to facilitate the implementation of the procedure were also streamlined.
