Summary

Over a four-year period, EEM performed environmental compliance audits for a steel manufacturer with seven sites in the Montréal region.

Approach and Solution

For these audits, EEM applied the principles in the CSA Z773-03 Standard to verify compliance with environmental requirements. The seven manufacturing sites included three rolling mills, two steelworks, a reduction factory and a wire works.

Results

The audits led EEM to identify current and potential instances of non-compliance. Field inspections also created opportunities to  speak with on-site workers and, in some cases, to provide them with training in environmental awareness.
