Summary

EEM helped a municipal property management organization to register an energy efficiency project as a GHG emissions reduction project in order to sell voluntary carbon credits.

Approach and Solution

EEM worked with the property manager to register and sell carbon credits related to an energy efficiency project. The mandate involved choosing an appropriate standard and registrar for the project – taking account of market demand and client needs. EEM then developed the project plan and reduction report in compliance with the selected standard and registrar conditions, leading to the verification and consequent sale of the emission reduction credits.

Results

The ability to register and sell the carbon credits contributed to the financial feasibility of implementing the energy efficiency measures.
